Apparently, people eat the Tuna Eye and it is considered a delicacy. Sure, but only in Japan. It’s true that sometimes looks can be deceiving. However, I don’t think that I can eat something that keeps looking at me. Seafood is always appealing, but only when I eat a different part. There are though people who adventure on unusual tastes so, if you’re into it and want to give it a try, here are a few more details.
First of all, don’t try it if you don’t have a strong stomach. So now that we got that out of the way, here is how you can cook it. You should never eat raw tuna eye and you should cook it lightly. Otherwise it may lose its flavor. Use a saucepan, add cold water, boil it but with a lid on. After, add the tuna eye and let it cook for a few minutes. Usually not more than 5 minutes.
When they are done, just use a slotted spoon and take them out. Use sauces. Throw them in and eat them while they are warm, they are not that good if they are served cold. You can add a slice of lemon too. Oh man, tuna eye, what a delicacy! Another thing that you should know is that if they are served cold, you can add food poisoning to your schedule because apparently bacteria develops very easy in the eyeballs of fishes. And now that you know how to cook it, enjoy! But we say it’s weird.
